Sending Rewards
LiveHow to send MNEE to another member — manual send, Scan-to-Send, and 2FA challenges.
Sending rewards to another member is one of the core things your badge does. You can send MNEE from your transferable balance to any other badge holder using their badge identifier or by scanning their barcode.
Before you send
- Check your transferable balance. Only transferable MNEE can be sent P2P. If your balance is restricted or non-transferable, the send will fail. See Understanding Balances.
- Have the recipient's badge identifier. You'll need their 20-digit identifier, or they need to show you their badge card to scan.
Manual send
- Open your rewards wallet and tap Send.
- Enter the recipient's badge identifier (20 digits). The Luhn checksum will validate it before you proceed.
- Enter the amount of MNEE to send.
- Confirm the send. If 2FA is enabled on your account, you'll be prompted for your second factor. See Two-Factor Auth.
- The send is submitted. On the fast tier, the recipient sees the balance immediately. Settlement happens in the background.
Scan-to-Send
If the recipient is standing next to you, you can skip typing their identifier:
- Tap Send and then Scan recipient.
- Point your camera at their badge card barcode.
- Their identifier populates automatically. Enter the amount and confirm.
Scan-to-Send uses the same rotating barcode the recipient uses for event check-in. This ensures you're sending to the person actually holding the badge, not a screenshot.
2FA challenges
If you have two-factor authentication enabled, sends above a configurable threshold (default: 100 MNEE) require a 2FA challenge. You'll see a prompt for your authenticator code or a push notification to approve.
You can adjust the threshold in Account → Two-Factor Auth. Setting a lower threshold increases security; setting it higher reduces friction for frequent small sends.
Transaction fees
Peer-to-peer sends between members are free at the application layer. On-chain settlement incurs minimal network fees, but these are absorbed by the protocol — you don't pay them directly. The amount you send is the amount the recipient receives.
If something goes wrong
- Invalid identifier. The Luhn checksum failed. Re-enter the identifier carefully.
- Insufficient transferable balance. You don't have enough MNEE that's both available and transferable. Check your balance states.
- 2FA failed. Re-enter your code or approve the push notification. If you've lost access to your 2FA device, see 2FA Recovery.
- Recipient badge not found. The identifier doesn't match any badge in the system. Verify the identifier with the recipient.
Bump-to-Send (coming soon)
A future interaction mode will let you send rewards by bumping phones with another member — no identifier entry, no scanning. See What's on the Horizon.
