What Is HRTB

Live: Your rewards multiplier on HeartBadge — based on when you joined and how actively you participate.

HRTB is your rewards multiplier. It helps determine how much of an eligible program reward allocation your badge may receive when HeartBadge runs reward events or operator-funded campaigns.

HRTB is a number between 0.5x and 3.0x. It is calculated from two things:

  • when your badge activated
  • how active your badge has been recently

What HRTB is not

  • Not a token. You cannot buy it, sell it, trade it, or transfer it.
  • Not a balance. There is no HRTB wallet balance, market, or price.
  • Not a separate asset. HRTB belongs to your badge and only affects how eligible rewards are weighted under published program rules.
  • Not speculative. HRTB does not appreciate or represent ownership, yield, or investment return.

The two-axis model

HRTB is calculated using two factors:

effective multiplier = cohort multiplier × activity multiplier

This means your HRTB reflects both:

  • when you joined, and
  • whether you are still showing up

Cohort — permanent, set at activation

Your cohort is determined by your HeartBadge ID number when your badge is finalized.

Example cohort structure:

  • Founder — first 100,000 members → 2.0x
  • Pioneer — 100,001 through 1,000,000 → 1.5x
  • Member — 1,000,001 through 10,000,000 → 1.2x
  • Community — everyone beyond that → 1.0x

Your cohort is permanent. It recognizes when you joined. It does not increase or decrease later.

Activity — dynamic, based on participation

Your activity tier is recalculated every 30 days based on qualifying participation actions recorded for your badge during that period.

Examples of qualifying actions may include:

  • check-ins
  • quest completions
  • event participation
  • approved referrals
  • gifts sent
  • other program-defined actions

If you meet the threshold for a tier, you remain at that tier for the next period. If you do not, your activity tier may step down according to program rules.

Activity recognizes that you are still participating.

Why both axes exist

Cohort alone would reward people simply for being early, even if they stopped participating.

Activity alone would remove the value of being early and erase the founder story.

Together, the two axes reward the members HeartBadge is designed to recognize most:

the people who showed up early and are still showing up now.

An early member who becomes inactive may hold their original cohort, but their effective multiplier can still decline if activity falls. A later member who is highly active may outpace an inactive earlier member. That is intentional.

What HRTB affects

HRTB applies only to certain eligible reward allocations inside the HeartBadge ecosystem.

These may include:

Program Reward Events

Reward campaigns run by the platform or a program operator, including milestone activations, participation campaigns, and bonus events.

Operator-Funded Bonus Campaigns

Additional rewards attached to quests, check-ins, seasonal challenges, or other approved participation activities.

  • The operator defines the base campaign rules.
  • HRTB may increase or decrease the member's weighted allocation where the campaign allows it.

What HRTB does not affect

HRTB does not apply to:

  • membership ownership
  • badge access rights
  • standard peer-to-peer transfers
  • gifts sent at face value
  • any feature not specifically designated as HRTB-weighted by program rules

Where member-to-member transfers are supported, they follow separate wallet and program rules and are not weighted by HRTB.

Looking it up

Your HeartBadge interface shows three HRTB values:

  • Your Cohort — based on your finalized HeartBadge ID
  • Your Activity Tier — based on your recent qualifying actions
  • Your Effective Multiplier — the result of the two combined

See Levels and Multipliers for the full table and exact formula.

Important note

HRTB is part of the HeartBadge rewards system. It is used to weight eligible program rewards under published rules.

HRTB is not:

  • a token
  • a security
  • a cash balance
  • a guarantee of rewards
  • a promise of future value

Reward availability, timing, and amount may vary based on participation, program rules, and platform activity.
