Redeeming a Gift
LiveSomeone sent you a HeartBadge. Here's how to claim it and activate your badge.
Someone sent you a HeartBadge — either directly to your email, via a shared link, or from a pool. Here's how to claim it.
Claim flow
- Open the claim link. Click the link in the email you received, or the link the gifter shared with you. You'll land on the HeartBadge claim page.
- See the gift details. The page shows who sent it (their display name), their personal message (if any), and the tier (Full or Lite).
- Enter your email. This becomes your HeartBadge account email. If you already have an account, use the same email.
- Verify your email. You'll receive a verification code. Enter it to prove you own the address.
- Your badge is minted. Once verified, your badge is minted on-chain and activated immediately. You'll see it in your wallet.
That's it. Activation starts the moment you verify — there's no separate activation step.
What you receive
Depending on the tier:
Full HeartBadge
- A full badge minted to your identity key
- Full starting balance in MNEE
- 1.0× HRTB status (base level, build from here)
- Founder cohort eligibility if you're within the first 100,000 activations
HeartBadge Lite
- A lite badge minted to your identity key
- Smaller starting balance
- 1.0× HRTB status
- Can upgrade to Full later
If the link doesn't work
- Already claimed. Each gift can only be claimed once. If someone else used the link first (possible with shared links), it won't work for you. Contact the gifter.
- Expired. Gifts expire 1 year from purchase. If it's expired, the link won't work. The gifter may be able to get a replacement.
- Revoked. The gifter can revoke an unclaimed gift. If they did, the link is invalid.
- Pool exhausted. If this was a shared pool gift and all badges have been claimed, the pool is empty. Contact the gifter.
After claiming
Your badge is now yours. Start with:
- What Is a Badge — what you now have
- Badge Card and Barcode — how to use it at events
- Understanding Balances — your MNEE and how rewards work
- What Is HRTB — your status and how to grow it
Upgrading from Lite to Full
If you claimed a HeartBadge Lite and want to upgrade to Full, you can do so from your account. The upgrade costs the difference ($230) and immediately converts your badge to Full tier with the full starting balance and referral eligibility.
