What data HeartBadge stores, what we don't, and your rights as a member.

HeartBadge is designed to minimize data collection while still providing a functional service. This page explains what we store, what we don't, and your rights.

What HeartBadge stores

  • Email address. For account verification, security notifications, and communication.
  • Badge identifier. Your 20-digit identifier and its on-chain state.
  • Transaction history. Records of rewards earned, sent, and received (with counterparty identifiers partially masked).
  • Check-in events. Timestamps and locations of verified check-ins.
  • HRTB progress. Your heartbeat accumulation and tier.
  • 2FA settings. Whether 2FA is enabled and your threshold.

What HeartBadge does NOT store

  • Your private key. Your identity key is stored on your device, not our servers. We cannot access it.
  • Your real name. We don't require or store legal names.
  • Your physical address. No shipping address is required.
  • Your payment details. Payment processing is handled by Stripe; we don't store card numbers.
  • Unnecessary tracking. We don't track your location except during explicit check-ins. No ad profiles. No third-party analytics trackers.

Data shared with programs

When you join a program, the operator receives:

  • Your badge identifier
  • Your check-in events at their venues
  • Your HRTB tier (for multiplier calculations)

Operators do NOT receive:

  • Your email address (unless you explicitly share it with them)
  • Your transaction history outside their program
  • Your check-in history at other programs

Your rights

  • Access. You can view all data we have about you in Account → Privacy → Download My Data.
  • Correction. You can update your email address and other account details.
  • Deletion. You can request account deletion. Your badge will continue to exist on-chain (we can't delete it), but your account data (email, transaction history on our servers) will be removed.
  • Portability. You can export your data in standard formats (JSON, CSV).
